Can from the brewery. Pours an almost black colour with a frothy mocha-coloured head, good retention and lots of sticky lacing. Coffee aromas over roasted malts, molasses and dark fruit hints. The taste seems quite mild with the roasted malts and a little coffee. Really, there's 9.5% ABV. in here ?? Very, very smooth. Nothing out of this world though.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a fairly large frothy brownish head and has a deep dark amber/brown appearance. Some dirty sticky lacing all around. Aromas are coffee, oats, dark roasted malts and some chocolatey notes. Flavours are very sweet, lots of strong chocolate and coffee notes, hints of vanilla, cocoa and some spices. Alcohol is slightly noticeable but really not offensive at all. Wow, this beer is quite deceiving, can drink a few easily but high abv might hit you after a while without realizing it. Great brew. Probably my favourite beer from these guys.
