Overall this was a very good beer. It has a smell that is a mix of coffee and chocolate with a little bit of maple syrup. It has a dark brown look and tasted sweet and nutty. Like breakfast, this beer is good anytime.

Not very nutty, pretty much the same as the maple nut minus the sweetness and adding in a little alcohol burn. Dark roast, a little fruitiness. A little on the generic side, but not bad...

pours a rich ruby brown medium sized toasted marshmallow head that falls quickly with a few arches of lace are left as it dissipates. The aroma is of crusty bread, walnuts, brown sugar, and a hint of booze. The taste is similar to the aroma, by starting nutty and then moves on to maple, gingerbread, and booze, finishes like crusty bread. Aftertaste of toasted marshmallow and roasted grains and is fairly boozy. The mouthfeel is medium body, medium carbonation and finishes pretty clean.

I wasn't expecting much, seemed very gimmicky. Poured a clear brown with a touch of red and decent head, looked good anyway. Smelled of sourness and grass with lots of malty sweetness. Flavor wasn't terrible, sweet and easy to drink, well balanced if not mind blowing.

Pours a dark, somewhat transparent cola-brown with a very thick and rather persistent light tan head. Strong, malty aroma has an overtone of molasses and a hint of maple syrup. Malty flavor has a sweet, syrupy overtone and woody, nutty and caramel notes. It is on the sweet side with very little hop bitterness, but still pleasing and tasty. Firm, smooth texture has just a little fizz, but you feel it going down the pipes. Overall, a worthy brew.

9% ABV- For what this is, I think I may have preferred the regular lighter Maple Nut Brown over this. I remember liking the regular cause of the lighter body, and nice maple and slighty hoppy flavors. This still has all of that, but the heavier body and stronger alcohol content masks some of those flavors. This is more of a sipping or drink-slowly type beer compared to the "slam it down fast" type for the regular maple. Appearance is murkier and maybe a little darker. I only sampled the regular 4.5% one once, but need to try again I think. This 9% Imperial is still solid, but not one of my preferred strong browns of choice.

I like this one. Very economical too, for its higher ABV. Pours a very dark brown, nearly opaque and even Porter-like, with a thinnish mocha head with little retntion. Aromatic with roasted malts and a whiff of the maple syrup. Light carbionation, and very sweet on the palate, nutty and warming, with the maple there, but not overwhelmingly so. Just a nice hint, adding to the sweetness of the malts. The maple syrup makes for a tasty addition, especially when added with the subtlety in this brew. Excellent, lingering mouthfeel. Would make a good dessert beer, especially after pancakes in the morning (weekend mornings only!).

This is a marked improvement over the Maple Nut Brown. Similar brown pour with ruby highlights but again with very little head. Aroma of roasted malt, maple, and caramel. Taste is similar with a hint of hops trying to keep the sweetness at bay with little effect. Alcohol is fairly well hidden. Decent beer but the sweetness gets to be too much.

Pours a clear ruby brown with a tight creamy head and some lacing. Aromas of mild cocoa, some maple and brown sugar, slightly malty. High abv is well hidden with a chocolate-maple-malty flavor. Warming improves.

Pours out in a crystal clear reddish brown colour with a low disappearing off-white head. Strong and clean caramel aroma with notes of wood, nuts and burnt sugar. Nearly full-bodied with touches of burnt caramel, resin, fudge, caramilazed sugar and maybe some vanilla. Long clean a nd rather intense finish of caramel, cherries, figs, resin and mild spices.

A reddish brown colored ale on pour. Small soapy, off white head. Settles quickly into a weak lacing. The aroma is simple, sweet and caramel. The body is light. Some smoothness. The alcohol is bold and hides whatever else is there. Some sweetness and a subtle aftertaste of cirus hops. Drinkable. Not as special as the packaging.
