In 1807 Daniel Thwaites was the archetypal “game keeper turned poacher” as he switched jobs from Excise Duty Officer, collecting revenue from the Brewery, to owning and brewing the beer he would later name after himself. An inspired and momentous decision. Lance Williams BrewerTo celebrate and honour the 200 Years of brewing expertise since that day, our Head Brewer has created Thwaites Double Century. Availability Available as a hand pulled cask beer in our pubs and bars and also to take home in a new embossed bottle, Double Century is a truly, commemorative ale, which recognises this historic milestone and celebrates a great achievement in UK Family Brewing.
