(Alcohol by volume: 5.0%; O.G.: 12° P / 1.048): Pale and refreshingly tart, Telegraph Golden Wheat is a complex ale that embodies the best of traditional, unfiltered wheat beers. Pouring with a generous, creamy white head, the aromas of fresh citrus and delicate spices are immediately apparent. This beer should be savored with lighter fare such as seafood and grilled chicken, or is perfect as an aperitif as the sun starts to cast long shadows at the end of a hot summer day. One last tip: skip the slice of lemon… this is a wheat ale with a flavor that stands up on its own! Sampled on 10/22/2011. This wheat beer pours a medium orange gold color from a 750ml cork and caged bottle. Medium sized white foamy head, decent retention and nice lacing. The aroma is cereal and grain, hints of orange and citrus, and sweet. A medium bodied wheat beer. The malts are grainy and sweet, citrusy and orange. Perhaps a touch of tartness. The hops are herbal and spicy. Nice lively carbonation. Crisp and clean. A lot of hops and citrusy for a wheat beer. Very refreshing. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
