Originally brewed by the monks of St. Francis of Paula (Paulaner Brewery today) as “liquid bread” for the fast during Lent, and dedicated to the Savior, or “Salvator” in German. As a nod to the original, all subsequent doppelbocks end in “-ator”. Thus, ours is called Creamator. It is very smooth, dark, rich, and malty.
