Bourbon barrel aged in a coal mine. We created a series of beer called Gruve 3 to honor the mining community in Longyearbyen. The beers are named after work titles and known persons. This beer is dedicated to the owner of the brewery, Robert Johansen, a miner in Mine 3 from 1982-1994. at the age of 20 he took his pilot license, and in 1983 he bought his first plane. Seasoned miners were given nicknames. If you were assigned a nickname you were a person to remember. People quickly understood that Robert was a hardworking man and was therefore nicknamed «Autopilot».

330 ml can, No. 11735 / 13000, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 9%. Reddish brown colour, moderate off-white head. Aroma of bourbon and oak, notes of fusel alcohols. Sharpish oaky flavour, notes of bourbon, hints of fusel. Not entirely successful.
