Twister Wheat Ale is a revolutionary wheat beer that borrows the best from several Old World traditions. Like the famous German Hefewiezens, it is cloudy, nay, downright murky, and is best served with a twist of lemon. Like the more refined Berliner Wiesse, a portion of the mash undergoes a somewhat tricky souring process to give the beer a pronounced tanginess. James pays tribute to the Belgian monks, while simultaneously middle finger saluting the German Brewmeisters, by using unmalted wheat and curacao orange. These ingredients are actually illegal in Germany.
