2018 Description: The most popular beers in the world call themselves Pilsners, but they barely resemble the original from the city of Pilsn in the Czech Republic that gave its name to the style in 1842. Steamworks’ version comes close, which explains why it has won Best Beer in BC for two years running. It is a rich, malty lager with a spicy, floral hop character – crisp, complex and delicious. MALTS: Pilsner HOPS: Magnum, Tradition, Tettnang, Spalt select, Saphir COLOUR: Golden 2014 Description: A hoppy czech-style lager, our Pilsner is a true beer drinker's beer inspired by the first golden lagers brewed in the Czech town of Pilsn. This full-bodied lager is hopped with copious amounts of Sterling hops, lending it a refreshing, citrusy finish. (Available during winter.)

Pours a good size foamy bubbly head and has a clear yellowish appearance. Ok lacing. Aromas are mostly malty, with hints of wheats and sweet malts. Flavours are mainly sweet malts, hints of honey and notes of grassy hops. Fairly smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Slick and oily sensation. Not too bad.

Part of the BC Craft Brewers Guild Natural Selections 6 pack (2014). Pours a clean pale golden colour with a bubbly white head, good retention and foamy lacing. Aromas of sweet honey and oranges over the pils malts. The taste starts off the same but the grassy hops take over and the finish is short. Not super dry, but mostly bitter mouthfeel. Nothing like a Euro Pilsner, but a decent North American version with a little more punch, and more micro action (less adjunct).
