Pours cola-brown that fades to dark amber with a decent, though effervescent, light tan head. Aroma has roast malt, nutty, earthy, caramel, and subtle clove notes. Flavor is a little bolder, roast malt accompanied by nutty and caramel side notes plus hints of caramel and molasses. Texture has average firmness but lacks fizz. Still, a good winter brew. Have one after skiing, or shoveling snow - or fighting the [censored] crowds at the mall.

This beer was a gimmie from my neighbor. A nice overall dopplebock. There was low alcohol presence but enough to know it was there - just not hot a 7.4. The body was on the fuller side but not that of a stout. Color was almost black but brown when held to the light. I'd have this again.
