Sgt. Pepper Stout is a full-bodied stout laced with black pepper (yes, it really does have freshly ground black pepper!) which is complemented by a generous spicy hop balance. A mixture of Maris Otter pale malt, Amber malt and Pale Chocolate malt are all used along with a traditional addition of Northern Brewer & Fuggle hops which give an assertive hop balance to the brew. What else could it be called other than ‘Sgt. Pepper’… it’s almost as if The Beatles named their song especially for it…. A distinctively different take on stout, this ‘big’ beer is proving to be extremely popular.

Cask@GBBF2007. Pitch black colour, not much head, just a slight brown ring on the borders. Aroma is spicy, roasted malts and slightly coffeeish. Flavour is loads of spices, caramel, chocolate and coffee. Also some slight roasted malts. Really pleasant one, long spicy and roasted aftertaste.
