A massive, roasted, malt-forward American Trappist take on the Anglo-Russo Imperial Stout tradition. Luxuriantly frothy foam, waves of coffee, chocolate and caramel sensations, a generous blend of dark fruit flavors. Intense and robust.

Part of gift pack with glass. Pours a medium size frothy tan head and has a dark brown appearance. Moderate carbonation. Thick sticky lacing. Aromas of dark roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, earthy notes. Flavours are sweet, dark fruits, chocolate, roasted malt. Some notes of coffee but faint. Slick and creamy mouthfeel. Pretty good overall.

The beer pours a very dark brown colour with black edges. The aroma is light brown, foamy, and providing good lacing. The aroma is dark fruits, coffee, chocolate, and roasted malt. The mouthfeel is full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is roasted malt, dark fruit, and there is a chalky flavour as well. A pretty good take on an American style by a Trappist entity. -

Pours a real dark brown colour, really on the black side with very little cola highlights. The head is big, frothy, warm beige coloured with good retention and some light creamy patch of lacing. Roasted malt nose with hints of chocolate, molasses and leather. Flavours of roasted malts, but with a little more hops than usual Imperial Stout. Not to the max, but that little American touch. A mild dry finish. Nothing wrong here, but nothing as good as their main Trappist Ale.
