Our only named beer to date. Its' honorary status is in tribute to its' designer, Allen Rhoades, a fellow brewer who captured a blue ribbon at the Western Washington State Fair when it was entered as a homebrew. It's everything a stout should be. Rich and hearty, not thick and overpowering, comes complete with a creamy head. Chocolate and crystal malts along with roasted barley combine to create the wonderful flavor. Compliments deserts well: try one in place of a cup of coffee.

    Just a little better than average stout. Fresh nose, grass and roasted malt. Very light looking in the glass, no head, very plain. Taste is roasty with a little off putting sourness, wouldn't go out of my way for this.

    A pretty tastey stout. Pours a dark chocolate coloured body with a huge tan head. Soft aromas of a breakfast blend coffee, smoke and dark chocolate. Light vanillar flavor and a creamy finish.

    I preferred the draught version as it seems a little less vibrant and full from the bottle. Plus the atmosphere at South Shore put me in the right frame of mind for savoring good beer. Complex flavor is the hallmark of this Stout. The initial deep roasted malt and coffee taste gives way to slightly bitter hops with a nice dry finish. The body gets a little thinner and fruitier as it warms. Lacing from the creamy tan head is still evident as the last of this jet-black brew disappears – yum!

    Very dark black with a thin tan head. Aroma is fresh cut grass, vanilla beans and a touch of coffee with cream in it. The taste is fairly full. A nice dry character with some coffee, grass and cinnamon. Strange feeling at the back of the mouth. It is hard to place, but something like a flat cola? Smells great, but the taste let me down.
