Crafted from page 58 of out original family recipe book, this famously clear amber ale celebrates 30 years since our storied revival. Long aged, crisply carbonated, and brilliantly filtered, it drinks as smooth as it looks.

750ml bottle in nice wooden crate from LCBO. Pours a massive frothy tan head, has a clear amber coppery appearance, soapy lace, good retention. Aromas of toasty malts, caramel, cereal, earthy and mild resin notes. Flavours are somewhat sweet, some notes of caramel, toasted malts, light dried fruit hints. Some subtle bitterness on the palate in the finish.

Beautiful wooden box with different old-school brown bottle inside. Pours a clean copper colour with amber highlights. The beige frothy head is big, long lasting with thick bubbly-creamy lacing. Cereal grain smell with caramel malt sweetness and some spices. The taste shows some light toasted, roasted malts in the finish, lingering some light burnt wood. The taste is thankfully not as sweet as the nose gives out to be. Caramel again, but with hints of bananas, so wheat in here maybe. Light hops blending things a little. Was expecting like Cooper's Sparkling Ale, but no. Kind of a rich amber-spiced-wheat beer. Not bad, but not one I would have again. Nice to try though, an older recipe like this.
