This is a fun twist on a traditional "Harvest Ale". We used nearly 100 lbs. of "Sweet Mama" pumpkins, brown sugar, and a special blend of spices to create a mildly sweet brew for autumn.

    i was wondering what they could possibly add to the style that hasn't been done over and over. well...they call it a light brown ale, which made me think there'd be more to the beer than, say, the yellow pee beers that happen to be pumpkin spiced, but it was about as light in body as you can get, although a touch darker. go figure. i can't say much for the base beer, cause you couldn't tell it was there, but MAN did they nail the spices. i've reviewed many as pumpkin pie, and read many as well, but this was that and nothing else. maybe it's the sweet mama pumpkin variety, which was nice. so...great aroma, good flavor, no body. not bad. 2012 much improved!!!
