Bottled@Konttori, Tampere. Pretty much black colour, beige head. Aroma is salted licorice aong with anise and some wood. Flavour is coffee, vanila, licorice, some hops and also some roasted as well as sourish notes. Interesting and pleasant.

Tasted at Noogfest 4.0 (2008). This spiced ale pours a dark black color from a 750ml bottle. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is licorice, malt and grain, but mostly licorice. A medium bodied ale. The malts are caramel and fruity, lots of black licorice. The hops are kind of earthy. There is a birch like quality I am getting as well as the black licorice. This will probably be a love it or hate it beer. Yet another interesting beer from Shorts. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
