From bottle at dark Continental Club, while enjoying The Beetles. It’s a beer, at least I think because it is fluid and it says so on the bottle. (Houston 201505)

Had w dinner. Non offensive but nothing special as expected. If I needed to go light this might be the choice (though Sam Adams is more likely) but I hope that day never comes. Grassy hop aroma that disappears a little on the palate.

Pours a pale - and I do mean pale - yellow with a two-finger white head - no lacing. Grassy and earthy aroma that is not terribly offensive, yet not especially pleasing. Thin in the mouth - very light.

A third lager from the variety six pack from Spoetzl. Yeah, I’ll try a light beer, just to say I did. This one has a lot more color than I’d expect from the style. A crystalline orange tinted beer. A small, sudsy white head rises above but not for very long. A weak lacing is left behind. Actually has some aroma. Grainy corn and honey sweetness. A crisp smoothness in a surprising light moderate body. Decent carbobation here. The taste is in line with the style. Subtle corn-grain. Really not a bad beer, if you like this style.

Even though this is labeled as a lager, it reminded me more of a lighter version of Shiner Bock. Appearance is a thin clear light brown. Taste of caramel malts.....a little metallic....and yeah, watery. Less filling and tastes "great". Well, not really "great", but ok for a light. Gotta be way better than miller, coors, or bud light. Got in the variety pack, but don't think I would buy again unless I had to switch to light beers.

Part of the Shiner Family Reunion 6er. Pours a lite yellow with a medium head and little lacing. Good carbonation. Corn and grains in the weak aromas with slight watered-down hops. Taste is a bit grainy with a wet wheat/corn flavor and little hops. Thin like most lights - still ok for a lawnmower beer.

Part of the Shiner Family Reunion 6 pack: Poured a suprisingly deep amber colour with a full white head. I was expected it to be golden. Taste is pretty malty for the most part. Noticeable grain, with a little bit of caramel undertones. Aroma i couldn't get beyond- corn, some stale hops and a tiny bit of bread.

I'm not normally that concerned about the caloric value of my beer, but this was in the cooler...This is a very good "light" beer. Light golden color with a pristene white head that dissipated pretty quickly. Very nice balanced aroma of citrus hops and malt. The flavor was better than expected.

Aroma is grainy with some caramel malt as well some sweetness and is pretty in-depth given the style. Appearance is an amber in color with a pretty full head on top that is light-tan in color. Mouthfeel is light-bodied with decent complexity as well as balance with a palate that is clean and wet-like and not too bad. Flavor is of toasted malt as well as some sweetness with an aftertaste that has some slight hoppiness with a finish that is clean and crisp. Overall, not a bad brew and a good Vienna-style lager and by no means a lite lager IMO; recommended...

For a light beer its not bad, definatley better than most lights, but it is a watered down version of shiner bock. Decent aftertaste and smell is o.k. If you have to drink a light its worth trying.
