Our very own Skinny Dippin’ Stout aged for 12 months in Ontario red wine barrels, “1606” has all the roasted, chocolate notes you’ve come to love in our stout. We’ve just made it betterer! There’s now a big oak character on the nose, along with a slight funk and a lovely vinous character as well. Oh yeah, we dosed the barrels with raspberries throughout the year too, so there’s a slight cheek puckering tartness in there… just to round everything out!

Had a sample at Brothers Beer Bistro. Pours very minimal head and has a very dark brown appearance. Weak lacing. Aromas are quite fruity and has notes of raspberries. Flavours are kind of weird. Lots of sour type fruits, cherries, raspberries and such but also some sweet malts, light chocolatey notes. The palate is somewhat reminiscent of a dry red wine.

Sampled at Brothers Beer Bistro. Pours a brown colour with a beige head, minimal lacing and some red highlights. Sour, fruity nose with some dark fruit notes. Sour taste, but well-blended with the raspberries and some nice tartiness. Interesting mix of sour and a stout beer.
