An extremely solid, reasonably satisfying lager. Better-than-average aroma, good retention, rock-solid lacing on the glass. Like many Sapporo beers, very nice mouthfeel -- perhaps to make up for the fact that the aroma has nothing to say. Bitter enough to be satisfying, which is a welcome change of pace from most wishy-washy Japanese lagers. Overall, lives up to it’s advertising, in that this indeed a refreshing brew. “That good Hokkaido taste,” indeed.
