What would a saloon be without a great full-bodied German style, dark lager with a rich, creamy flavor? Our stout has roasted nut tones and an easy finish with notes of coffee and chocolate. 6.25% ABV.

The name says "stout" while the description says black lager or schwarzbier. I think I would have been better disposed to this beer if it had simply been called what it is. It's a ruddy coffee color with a thin cap of very fine tan bubbles. Sweet smell of coffee, toffee, and bubble gum with some yeast, hay, and lemon. Mild hops and sour yeast flavor on smokey chocolate malt, a little grassy. Uncomplex, not extreme. Quite wet, but it's a schwarzbier, not a stout. Lightly sticky, very fine bubbles. Understandably light: the pub serves it with pizza.
