Serious carbonation in the bottle Sounded like a bottle of Mumm’s when I popped the cork, rather than a bottle of beer. Very pretty pour. Huge head which is lasting a pretty long time. You can hear the bubbles bursting. Dark orange body, bordering on amberish tones. Light fruity aroma, like a framboise. Nice sourness to this. Very winey flavor. When I saw the not about sour cherries I immediately thought about Quelche Chose, but its not as pronounced with the Bret/Ped bugs in there. This could REALLY grow on me. Too bad its so expensive :-)

A few bottles shared by the legendary footbalm, thanks!

Aroma: Tart fruits and sweet malts
Taste: Taste cherries and other fruits, finished like a dry wine

Small offwhite head, retention is fair as is the lacing. Lightly hazy orange color starting to turn brown. Lightly fruity nose, pears, vinous and wood with faint oxydation. Body is medium, soft carbonation, lightly acidic and puckering. Smooth wood and fruit flavors, tartness is subdued, cherry notes, spicey, lightly vinegery, musty and funky. Tart, funky fruity finish. Surprise, surprise, nice. Props to FlacoAlto for the bottle he bonused me in a trade we did in Jan. of 07. Thanks Bro!!

Courtesy of SHIG, thanks. Pours hazy brown copper with thin off white head. The aroma has sweet notes of malts, sugar and berry fruitiness followed by tart berries and crushed aspirin. The taste explodes with sourness up front that seems to be tart berry fruitiness moving into dry tart crushed aspirin sucking the life out of my palate. Midway notes of sugar, sweet berry fruitiness and just a flash of malts create an all too brief and faint oasis away from the searing tartness. It ends tart and dry. I didn’t even get the faintest sense this had anything to do with barrel or wood aging.

Bottle courtesy of pantanap: Gushed a cloudy copper orange with an off white head. Aroma is sour fruit along with wood. Taste is mouth puckering sour with a wood and tart cherry.

Pours translucent honey, thin parchment head. Aroma presents tart and sweet stone and tropical fruit plus raw malt. Flavor delivers tart stone and tropical fruit, raw malt, a hint of hoos Texture features good body and lively fizz. Supplicate.

Bottle pour is redish brown with minimal carbonation and a faint head. Aromas of barnyard funk and a mellow oak. Massive tartness up front, jaw clenching sour yet not dry like the other superb lambics/wilds. A mild sweetness gives way to cherries and oak. This is phenomenal - Russian River's best and one of the best sours around. Age does this well too, creating even more tartness but not losing the cherries/oak.

Yes. This. Very generous sample from #KnoxBeerCrew tasting. Murky amber orange pour, creamy head, very ample lacing. Slight tart and sweet cheery nose, some red wine, then the funk and tartness hits, nearly acidic but still mild enough to stick your nose in the glass and really enjoy, ripe apple and pears, whiskey, spices and peppers, just magnificent - the flavor wraps around the tongue hitting all of your taste buds. Exquisite flavor - tart and zesty, funky and flavorful, ripe grapes, very slight cherries, bubbly, sour then sweet again... A real treat. This one WAS on my Wish List. It will remain on it. A fantastic beer.

Raaaahh! Thanks John for sharing this awesome brew with us. Easily my favorite of the 3. Pours a bright, clear orange. Huge white head that seems to never go down. Aroma is tart cherry, ripe raspberry, mango and caramel. Taste is similar, more tartness, sharp spicey/sour blend that is absolutely intense. My notes from yesterday say "has anyone ever put a raspberry inside of a cherry inside of an orange inside of a grapefruit?" a fruit sandwich! Whatever that means. Great beer nonetheless.
