Jay McEvers of the Austin Zealots homebrew club won our first Pro-Am competition earlier this Summer with this recipe. We scaled up the original 10 gallon recipe and Jay helped us brew a 15 barrel batch on our big brewing system. A mixture of American, German, and English malts and specialty grains are used in combination with traditional English hop varieties to create a beer that is truly an international concoction with a nod to the English origins of the Pale Ale style. This beer will be served at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver, CO, and is available in limited supply on draft and in bottles in central Texas. Ideally served at 50 – 55°F.
