I 1876 ble Ringnes & Co bryggeri grunnlagt av brødrene Amund og Ellef Ringnes, og Axel Heiberg. I 1903 ble Ringnes Vørterøl lansert som en styrkedrikk for aktive folk, idrettsmenn, gravide og barn. Vørterølet har en mørk nøttebrun farge. Aromaen er sterkt preget av malt, vørterkake, brød og annen kornbakst. Smaken er rik på maltsødme som balanseres mot frisk kullsyre og en lett humlebitterhet. Passer godt i bakst eller som turproviant.

330 ml can, from Coop Extra, Tau. Chestnut to mahogany colour, large to moderate off-white head. Aroma of malts, grain, brown bread and some caramel. The flavour has the same elements, malty but not too sweet, a low hop bitterness.
