Enlightenment: Brewed with roasted pumkin and a blend of spices to yield 'punkin pie' notes and deep red/orange colour. Lightly hopped with NZ Fuggle. A medium body and moderate bitterness show the flavour of the pumpkin, spice and caramelized malts to shine through

Pours a huge foamy bubbly head. Has a murky amber appearance. Thick patchy lacing. Aromas of spices, malted barley and resin hops. Flavours are mild pumpkin spice, tart, light nutmeg notes. Mouthfeel is tingly, astringent and has a thick foaminess. Fairly light bodied. Carbonation is pretty excessive. Not bad but I think the excessive carbonation and mouthfeel is little too much for me.

Bottle - pours a deep amber-orange ale in the glass with a 2 finger cap. Aroma is pleasant - subtle pumpkin notes and no spice. Tastes like a decent amber ale with some pumpkin notes - nice break from the over bearing pumpkin ales this time of year.

The beer pours a slightly translucent orange brown colour with a generous tan head that lasts a while. Highly effervescent. Aroma is pumpkin, nutmeg, and caramel with only a hint of hops. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with above average carbonation. Flavour is on the bitter side with notes of burnt pumpkin, spices and caramel. Another solid beer from Renaissance.
