Rich, golden coloring with an almost orangish hue. Head was nice and full, but short-lived. Floral hop aroma is prevalent in the nose, malt and grassy undertones are also present. Flavor starts out with an almost astringent bitternes that I really liked. As the beer moved towards the finish a raisiny/currant note came out that was reminescent of a nice Sauterne. Mouthfeel accentuated this Sauterne theme as it too was a bit syrupy and heavy. Aftertaste was back to the hop bitterness - very agressive again. Eventually sweetens out with the alcohol putting the bow on top - an excellent brew.
