A deep copper coloured brew, offering the beer connoisseur the complexity of flavour expected from thrice hopping and longer fermentation, leading to a fruit character from both the late kettle Goldings and yeast fermentation flavour, balanced by a soft bitterness, malty sweetness and full floral aroma of Fuggles dry hops. Ingredients: Pale Malt, Roast Barley, Black Malt, Flaked Barley; Galena, Nugget and East Kent Goldings hops

Pours a clear, dark coppery brown with a very thick, fluffy and rather persistent cream-white head that leaves some good lacing. Malty aroma has a strong fruity note and a hint of grass. Flavor has a malty core, notes of apple and pear, and a woody and slightly bitter underpinning of hops. Smooth texture has good body and plenty of fizz. Blast your brain - and taste buds - with this one.

Didn't know what I was buying with "Strong Ale", and the price tag almost put me off ($14 for a 4 pack), but it turned out to be a decent english ale, just slightly bigger and bolder than normal. Traditional flavours like raisins, orange, wood and stale nuts. Medium bodied, ABV well hidden.

so far my favorite of the 3 porterhouse beers i've had. great balance between sweet and slightly nutty and roasted malt, and fruity, citrus and slightly bitter hops. really opens up nicely.

Draught@Porterhouse London. Amber colour, mediumsized beige head, some lace. Aroma is caramel, kiwifruit and some other fruits including bigtime orange. Flavour is oranges, kiwifruit, wood and hops. Hides the alcohol well.
