Fifty percent of this blended stout was aged in Bourbon barrels for over seven months. The other component was fermented and then aged for 40 days in stainless. Smooth and chocolaty with a great vanilla wood overtone.

No infection issues here, and either I found a mistake, or the price has come way down to match the price of all theor other bombers. $4.99 is easily the cheapest barreled bomber I've ever bought (though it is a blend). The hops of the base stout come through more than expected, as dose a highly roasted and slightly smokey character. The barreling is obvious, but light in comparison to many others out there. Quite complex, and a steal at the price point (Total Wine)...

i am reviewing a bottle that was clearly infected, but seeing as Pike sold this, and the whole state of texas got infected bottles, the review stands til i get a new bottle..

I liked this beer. It pours a very dark brown, almost black with a thin brown head. The aroma is roasted malt, bourbon, chocolate, and vanilla. The flavour is more of the same, with an earthiness. Excellent.

Bottle shared by Swolf3. Poured the usual for the style, decent initial tan-choco colored head. Light chocolate, some acceptable oxidation, notes of wood with the vanilla notes only very faint and all bourbon-ness surprisingly and pleasantly in the distant distant background (I probably would have missed them entirely if I wasn't told they were in there). Thanks, Steve!
