Our Blonde Ale is the result of simple brewing techniques and quality ingredients: Maris Otter barley, West Coast Hops and Ringwood yeast, creating a subtle yet complex flavour in a sociable pale ale. The first Picaroons beer ever brewed! It was originally named “Crooked Log Blonde,” and then bottled as “Whale Ale” for a short while in 1999. Then it was simply renamed as Picaroons Blonde Ale in 2005. *Label Drawing by Tom Giberson

Thanks to my friend Nic for bringing this back from his trip at the brewery. Pours a slight hazy golden-amber colour with a big frothy warm-yellow cap with good retention and lacing. Apple-like aromas from the malt with spicy notes and very mild honey. The taste is a mix of the apples with the mild grass from the hops. Quite a nice blonde ale that has loads of apples, but not on the sweet-side and definitely not cider.

Nice spring ale from Picaroons out of Fredrickton. Nice aroma with a nice hoppy yet bitter attack and a clean aftertaste. Not alot of body but a good clean, defintely sociable beer. Good for a session.
