Although cheap (£5.99 for 6x500ml bottles), I would have expected more from a German "Premium" Pilsner of 4.9%, considering what you can get these days, in the way of high quality lager beers for not THAT much more. I bought it from Lidl's, having tried other very acceptable lagers there before. On tasting, I was very dissappointed; the flavour was very thin and lacking in character, despite being drunk on a "virgin" mouth i.e. I had not eaten or drunk anything for hours, so nothing was present that would have masked the taste. In fairness, I wouldn't describe it as a "bad" beer, but only because the price was on it's side. It is to beer, what background music is to doing housework....a token gesture, not to be paid much attention to.

A friend travelling Europe brought me back a couple of these. ABV is only 4.7%. A nice straw yellow color, clear, white cap is thin, and foamy. Lots of strong off smells giving the impression of a substandard German pilsener. Taste is slightly sweet, metallic and finishes with a hint of acidity.

A welcome addition to my drinking arsenal, a good pal and myself were united last night in our praise for this little sparkler from the south east. Plenty of grassiness as other reviwers have noted, and I have to say it held its head well and when knocked back it delivered a beautiful finish.

Great refreshing dry beer (compared to the others on sale here in Ireland). 4.9%, slightly metallic in aftertaste but not too bad. Goes well after exercise, and before moving on to something more challenging. Useful to have in the fridge.

Bottled (4.7%). Colour is yellow, with mediumsized white head, leaves some lace. Aroma is salts, hay and slight grass. Flavour is very hoppy along with some malty and slight grassy notes. Surprisingly good for being a beer from Lidl.

500 ml bottle, from LIDL Norway. ABV here is 4.7%, in Germany it is 4.9%. Very pale golden colour, moderate head. Sweetish aroma, some fruit and cooked vegetables, some grass too. Very light bodied, thin mouthfeel, minimal malts, but a tolerable hoppy bitterness, which is not quite as metallic as in most other LIDL beers. Easy drinking, not offensive.
