'Tis the season for winter ale and delicious fatty desserts, so why not drink up Penn Brewing's Nut Roll Ale? This brew has a sweet, candied taste that'll leave you feeling way better than those strange yams at last year's potluck. Nut Roll has a dry finish and spicy, chocolatey notes. What's left to think about? Pick some up this year on the way to Grandma's.

Poured out a deep brownish red color. The aroma is faint but cinnamon is present. The mouthfeel isn’t thick but better than average. The taste definitely has spice, good Christmas beer.

Comes out of the tap a deep sable just a whisker above coal black with a decent pale tan head. Strong, malty aroma has a firm overtone of horehound and notes of clove and cinnamon. Flavor has malty, nutty, caramel and horehound notes with a subtle undertone like chocolate milk. Sweetness is not too strong, though. Texture is about average, typical body but good fizz. Roll up to this one.

Pours a deep red in color, almost brown with a cream colored head that goes away quickly leaving barely any lace. The aroma is sweet bread and nuts right away with vanilla frosting and malty hops comes through and it really does taste just like a holiday dessert. The mouthfeel is a medium body with a decent carbonation level.
