Stopped by to try the flagship Moonstone Stout, but a late shipment of oysters meant the only stout on tap was the Vegan. Black with a creamy, dense tan cap (1.5 cm). Aroma of roasted coffee and, much to my surprise, brine. Wasn't expecting that in the Vegan, but I wasn't complaining, either! Rich char & smoke flavor off the bat, some coffee, chocolate, and brine. Light underlying sweetness rises, bringing more chocolate with it. Sticky, good body, creamy, nearly undetectable tiny bubbles. Good show by Klingel. I look forward to the Moonstone, an unusual style for a flagship, but the Vegan does not disappoint.
