This is possibly my favourite beer. It tastes nice enough to make you want to keep drinking, and is strong enough to be worth drinking! It goes down much smoother than other lagers like Fosters or Stella, and at £5 for 8 440ml cans, you can't go wrong! My only critcism would be that the drink seems to absorb the "tinny taste" of the can quickly, i.e the beer loses it's flavour if the can isn't relatively fresh from the brewer, which makes buying cans of oranjeboom a bit of a "russian roullette" - you might get lucky and have some of the finest beer, or you could end up with 8 cans of tin flavoured beer. I think it's worth the risk.

Clear pale yellow, only foam ring remaining. Barley aroma and taste. Drank because Oranjeboom used to be grreat brewery in Holland, this does not come close. (Velp 201606)

oranje-BOOM! Pours a clear pee-pee yellow colour, thin white top, with a skunk aroma that'll crunk ya! Skunkalumpugus! Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, taste is very grainy. Like incredibly grainy. It was like drinking a grain mill. Bitter dutch hop taste. These folks must have been smoking something to think this beer was anything close to par.

2econd of the Killer Case Club selections (Rnd 1). Tall, white, rocky head comprised of large, gassy bubbles sits atop a clear, light amber colored brew. Aroma is slightly skunky, or cabbage-like. Slight Brussels Sprouts taste. Light bodied mouthfeel hides a potent alcohol kick. Aftertaste is clean, bitter, and dry without being astringent. Great post-workout thirst-slaker.

Sampled in Scotland, Holland and the US. A decent beer but there are much better dutch brews out there. Very simple texture leaves a lot to be desired. Pour is nice but kind of pale. Flavor is bland and lacks proper hops.

From a can, how does this smell skunked? I'm baffled. Simply baffled. Oh well, head faded really fast after a fluffy pour. Very low bitterness and carbonation. No metallic or really off flavors, just minor skunk.

Orange Tree from Holland, nice....smells like a heiny..looks like a heiny....and not surprisingly tastes very similiar...one of the better euro lagers..needs a tiny bit more bitters...

Oranjeboom must mean "Skunk Farts" in Dutch. Another light colored lager along the lines of Heiniken and Molson, only even more watered down. This is the Budweiser of the Netherlands, no doubt. Swill!

SKUNKY! Apparently some of the luckier reviewers have encountered an as-yet-unskunked bottle, but mine was not good. Pours a medium gold with a small head and little lacing. Mouthfeel is average, but with the nasty taste, it didn't stay in my mouth long. Aroma and taste were both noxious. Unless someone can convince me otherwise, I think I'll spend my money trying another brew next time.

A very good case to be made for buying Euro-swill in a can vice (presumably) green bottle with this one. While the can I got from Trader Joes was heavily dented and abused, it still held the beer within intact. And while this beer is definately nothing to write home about, I shudder to think how bad it would be if it were bottled and skunked in transit.

As is, it's not horrible, just a bit predictably boring and tiring to drink. This may have been the official beer of the Dutch Royal Family (or some-such nonsense), but that only means to me that someone sold the royals a bum deal.

Average across the board -- call it charity on my part. But otherwise, there is little to seperate this from hundreds of other dull-ass lagers from both abroad and closer to home. I would take this over BudMillerCoors, but that's no saying anything positive about this, to be honest.

Is it possible that Oranjeboom means "beer that tastes like crap"?? How anyone could drink this with any regularity must LOVE the taste of cat piss, or Budweiser because both taste the same. My best friend gave me a bottle of this beer to try because he mistakenly bought a 12-pack for his Pop because he's a beer afficianado. Since it was cheap, he bought it and after his dad took away his inheritance for buying him this stuff, he told me to try it. Feeling in the mood to taste a beer I've never tried, I immediately thought the beer was exactly like American Bud. A real chemical taste, NO head, skunky smell, it actually didn't taste too bad while it was nearly frozen. After it warmed up a bit, the taste couldn't hide anymore. One of the RARE beers I've actually had to pour out. I just coulnd't finish it. How anyone could like this is beyond me.
