The Western Slope of Colorado, just a short trip over the Rocky Mountains, is the perfect place to find new ingredients for an excursion in brewing. Jaunt is a process, or journey, marrying a delicate pale ale with Colorado grown Riesling grapes and aged on oak, just for pleasure. The final blend boasts a creamy malt body, a bright and crisp fruity finish, and just a dash of vanilla from the oak.

Pours somewhat hazy golden with a thin eggshell head. Aroma had malty and subtle hoppy notes. Flavor is bolder than the aroma, malty and a little hoppy. Mouthfeel has average body and some good fizz. Jaunty indeed!

Could be considered a fruit ale as well, with the use of reisling grapes. Not as sweet as would be expected, as it is very well balanced. The nose has a musty grape aspect, but also some light citrusy hops and bready malts, as does the flavor. Odell, again, has made a unique tasty brew. Only semi-sweet when it would be all to easy to go over the top. Definite prickly feel, but light and refreshing for the higher abv.

750 ml bottle. Pours clear straw yellow with a big bubbly white head that retains well and leaves little lacing.

The aroma is sweet grape juice, with some musty earthiness.

The flavor is sweet grapes / white wine on a malty body with a dry finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with prickly carbonation.

Overall, it's interesting - tastes a lot like a malty sweet white wine.
