    Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8

Bottled. Very deep brown, close to black, colour. Mediumsized brown creamy head, that leaves nice lace. Aroma is toffee, fudge, licorice and caramel malts along with slight notes of wood. Flavour is very much the same in a very pleasant balance. The wooden notes are stronger in flavour than aroma. Big licorice finish.

Pours out in a an almost black colour with brown edges topped with rich creamy lasting tan-coloured foam. Figs, raisins, licorice, black coffee and mils smoke in the aroma. Medium-bodied with notes of figs, mint, licorice, tobacco, raisins, smoke and all-spice. Well-rounded mouthfeel with a gentle carbonation. Black coffee, raisins, smoke, pipe-tobacco and salty licorice in the finish that could have been linger a bit longer. A pleasant and complex brew but the body felt a bit light (even compared to the English Imperial Stouts.)
