Not a stout by any detail I can see. It looks like a nut brown, not even dark enough to be a stout. Aroma hints at some roastyness but mostly nuttyness. Flavor is caramel and nuts again. All nut brown, almost zero stout. Not sure what they were aiming at here. Some dry resin on the finish, that's about all that reminds me of a stout.

My wife made the comment about this beer that it was actually ok because it was a little heavier. I said that if their stout wasn’t even half way close to what a stout should be we should get out of there. I guess i’m all talk....Black is the only thing that was close to the style. Light roasted nuts, a little hint of toast and maybe some vanilla and light gas station coffee flavors on the palate.
