Old Rasputin XI celebrates the eleventh anniversary of the first bottling of Old Rasputin. This special batch of Old Rasputin has been aged for a year in oak bourbon barrels, and it is truly amazing—even more depth and complexity than we had hoped for. Old Rasputin XI is available only at the Brewery retail store in Fort Bragg. It is packaged in a 500 ml. bottle with commemorative label and a cork and cage finish at $12.95 per bottle. Limit is one case per customer. Some for now, some for cellaring. Sorry, we are unable to ship beer to consumers. Don’t be left out of this milestone event. When this batch is gone, it’s gone.

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7
Bottle: Poured a pitch-black stout with a large dirty brown foamy head with good retention and some really good lacing. Aroma of bourbon is really dominating with some light notes of black chocolate coming through. Taste is totally dominated by bourbon with some warming alcohol notes and light black chocolate notes. Body is full with some creamy notes and good carbonation but alcohol is too apparent. Not bad overall though you might as well drink bourbon since it is so overpowering.

Not really fair to judge solely based on a 2.9 year old bottle, but it is what it is. I've got 12 at a 4.7 and 14 at a 4.8. This was hadn't turned, but had mellowed to the extent that it was just ever so slightly less mind blowing than it's newer brethren. Soooo glad they started bottling this.
