Won a gold medal at the 'Monde Selection Bruxelles' 1987. Ringnes took over and closed Nordlands Bryggeri in Bodø shortly after, but continued brewing Nordlandspils at E.C. Dahls Bryggeri (another Ringnes subsidiary) in Trondheim. The beer has a golden colour with a faint tinge of brown, and a malty aroma with a faint scent of flowery meadow and fruit. The flavour is aromatic and supple, with sweetish notes of mellow fruits.

Golden colour, small white bubbly head. Vegetably malty nose. Caramellish grassy flavour. Hoppy finish. Long grassy aftertaste. Not a very pleasant thing.

One of the better Norwegian pilseners. Easily drinkable, but could with advantage be more heavily hopped, to balance the flowery and fruity sweetness.
