21°P, 35 IBU. Ingredients: Malted barley, wheat, malted wheat, sugar, hops, yeast and local Grimstad water. It is very difficult to brew a complex and balanced Belgian-style tripel ale, but we have made an attempt at brewing one anyway! Our respect and admiration for those who master the skill and art of brewing excellent ale of this style is limitless. Tripels often pair with cheese, seafood and fresh vegetables.

Cloudy hay coloured pour with just a thin film for a head. Mild fruit and yeast aroma. Has a Scottish ale type flavour which is a little different for the style. Sweet maltiness, lemon, spice and yeast. Medium mouthfeel. Enjoyed the flavour but don't think its true to the style.

Pours a huge frothy off-white head that sticks around for awhile. Has a hazy golden appearance. Nice dirty lacing. Aromas of wheats and grains, light malts, slightly toasty. Flavours are quite strong. Has a sort of smokey like taste, burnt roasted malts. Some citrus hops, hints of pineapple and extremely light banana notes. Very bitter in the finish with mouthfeel and aftertaste. A little off putting with aftertaste. A bit of alcohol comes through, just enough and not offensive. Really good.

First pour is crystal clear peachy gold but I think pour number to will be cloudy and muddy with the amount of muck I see sitting on the bottom of the bottle. Yep pour two is messy as hell! aroma has heavy yeast with a lemon finish, mild spice, mild medical alcohol. There is something almost peat like in the finish... what is that? Lemon, toasty wheat, mucky yeast, very noticeable alcohol. Sweetness really builds the more you drink. Just got a big hit of bloody nose in here. Reading some other reviews I got to agree with honey. Not sure what to make of this flavor its good bad and ugly, it falls into the category of good beer bad for the style in this case triple.

Glad to see a Tripel from this brewery (always nice to see a none-Belgian brewer trying this great style). Pours a hazy golden colour with an amber hue, and a white cap that gives out creamy lace. Aromas of malted wheat (and Barley) with notes of fruits and very mild burnt wood (smokey). The smokiness delivers in the taste as well with peachy wheat and spices in the background. There is a grainy flavour which is weird. Nice brew, but different for a Tripel with the smoke factor (maybe a plus for Islay whiskey drinkers).

500 ml bottle - murky honey-gold color. Smallish white cap...laces well theough. Modest carbonation. Sweetish nose, nice aroma os succulen over ripe fruit, some earthiness. Flavor is predominantly sweet with malts riding ovr moderate hopping, the saving grace of this tripel is the fruity esters from the Belgian yeast. As it finishes the hops become more prominent. Nicely rounded, hides its alcohol well, pleasant sipping tripel.

The beer pours a hazy golden colour with a very thin white head. Aroma is yeast, spices, weak citrusy notes and grass. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavour is on the sweet side with light fruits, peppery spices, yeast, and grassy malt tones. Not my favourite Nøgne Ø brew.

not what i expected from the style. as a matter of fact, i'm not sure i;d be able to tell this was supposed to be a tripel if it was a blind tasting. lacks the fruity yeastiness and has a thicker body - like a tripel/barleywine hybrid. sweet, but not in the same way as most in the style. malt more apparent than yeast. cloudy orange, and thick. ok overall, but missed the style mark. a bit on the boring side for Nogne O.

Very nice inviting nose. lots of spice, fruit, bread, yeast. Pours what appears to be a very see through orange with okay white fizzy head and some lacing. Lighter body than most tripels watery at times a hot to the palette. Spicy finish with decent carbonation. Taste very spicy too me. Some coriander and fruit. Missing a smack of Belgium sugar for sure.. but not too bad.

Pours a clear straw yellow - not inspiring, but at least there are plenty of little bubbles and a fairly thick, fluffy, white head. Aroma is strong, fruity and malty with a yeasty undertone. Flavor is malty and strongly of sour fruit - WHOA, has quite a sour bite there! It has a bitter but not nasty undertone as well as a whisper of honey-like sweetness and a metallic tang. Texture is silky smooth with just a little bit of a tingle. Not too shabby!
