A few times a year we cut Dan loose to brew whatever he chooses. Always handcrafted, the bottle you hold is brewed for the adventurous soul. This is a very limited edition and we make no promises to ever brew this style again. Brewmaster Dan reveals the guarded secrets of Belgium Brewer’s in this Strong Ale. Ancient traditions dictate this Belgian style Dubbel was brewed with a long kettle boil, pitching a blend of yeast strains and bottle conditioning encouraged with Belgian Candi Sugar. Dan’s insistence on old world methodology creates the complexity of the Strong Ale you hold 18°P. Sipping will reveal a cordial of caramel and spiced fruit notes. This makes it perfect to lie down in your cellar or enjoy by the fire tonight. Style: Dubbel Flavor: Robust, caramel and oak notes Availability: Available in 4 packs, Cases and 1/4 Barrels Pairing: Foods: Smoked Ham Grilled Aged Steak Cheese: Five Year Aged Cheddar Gruyere Desserts: Flourless Chocolate Cake Homemade Vanilla Bean Ice Cream

And of course PfoxyJohn sent me all of the latest New Glarus releases because that's what he does. He rocks. This one a Dubbel. Deep clear reddish brown pour, nice cream head and ample lacing. Caramel and yeasts and earthiness and fruits and wonderfulness in my glass. Yep, I liked it. Thank you again John.

Pours a clear mahogany color with a one finger tan head that takes its time. Lot of carbonation. Aroma is yeasty and fruity.Slight wintergreen or peppermint to the nose as well. Taste is metallic at first But you can pick out some figs in it. Metallic taste is pretty much dominate. Unpleasant to drink and not good at all.
