Big thanks to nbutler11 for this. I was pretty sure I’d never see a bottle of this beer. It pours deep mahogany with tan head and leaving behind some nice staining of the glassware. The aroma is nice with dark roasted malts, spicy oak, molasses, chocolate brownie and some dark roasted coffee. The taste is rich with slivers of spicy oak bathing in sweet molasses and rimmed with chocolate fudge brownie and smooth Cognac like booziness. It ends, or does it ever end as it lingers and lingers, with crusty molasses, chocolate and spicy oak. Yummers!

On tap at HaandBryggeriet Beer Festival, Drammen. Pitch black colour, brown head. Lovely complex aroma, cognac, oak, vanilla, roasty notes (coffee, liquorice). Excellent flavour, medium sweet and distinctly roasty, notes of cognac, oak, coffee, caramel and liquorice. Top notch!

Pours out in an opaque black colour with a low firm pale brown head. Big rounded and deep aroma of layers of dark malts, luxury chocolate, tobacco, wood and sweet coffee with hints of prunes and red berries. Full-bodied with rich rounded deep flavours of dark chocolate, roasted malts, fudge, wood, heather, tobacco and dried red grapes. Smooth and really rounded chewy mouthfeel. Long balanced finish of milky and dark chocolate, wood, roasted malts with hints of cognac. Darn tasty for sure but I still prefer the original Stormaktsporter and Kaggen over this. Still great stuff.
