The beer pours a solid coca-cola colour with a dark brown foamy head that doesn’t last very long. The aroma was roasted malt, coffee, and some vanilla hints. The mouthfeel was thin to medium bodied with below average carbonation. The flavour was roasted malt, nuts, and weak hints of chocolate. I was hoping for better.

Dark brown colour with some cola red-brown highlights. Fizzy beige head that actually stays a while, giving some soapy lace. Some fake hops in the smell, with some roasted and caramel malts. Hints of dark fruits, chocolate. Again, some not-so-great hops in the taste ending in a dry finish. Gets better as you drink it. Roasted malt background, but the bitterness takes over. An overall nice black lager, but wish the hops seemed fresher, truer.

Almost black colour with a good sized foamy tan head. Good retention and splotchy lacing. Aroma of chocolate and burnt toasted malt. Thin mouthfeel. Flavour is malty, caramel, burnt toast, black coffee and earthy hops. Very enjoyable.

473ml tallboy from LCBO. Pours an average size frothy tan head. Good retention. Has a dark brown appearance. Somewhat excessive carbonation. Aromas of barley malts, toasty and earthy hops. Flavours are quite malty, some roasted malts, hints of coffee and chocolate but sort of faint. Medium body. Slick and slightly oily mouthfeel. Not too bad.
