The Moa Brewing Company was established in 2003 by Josh Scott with a focus on brewing premium, boutique beers to an ever discerning beer market. Moa’s key point of difference is in its brewing technique. Bottled fermented and conditioned to give a natural, more consistent carbonation and flavour. The beer is left to lie on it’s lees until deemed ready to be ’disgorged’, a process that involves removing most of the lees from the bottle resulting in a clean, bright beer, right to the very last drop. Hence Methode Traditionelle. Most enjoyable with food or chilled on it’s own.

Murky yellow colored beer with a sudsy textured, off white head rising above. Some hang time on the head. A thin ringlet is left behind. Muted nose. Overall profile is grapefruit citric hoppiness. Light effervescent. Enjoyable.

Bottle: Poured a hazy golden color pilsner with a super huge foamy pure white head with frothy retention and super great lacing- almost reminiscent of Orval. Aroma of semi sweet malt with floral and grassy notes and light dry hoppy finish. Taste is dominated by refreshing semi-sweet malt with light grassy notes and floral undertones and light hoppy Saaz finish. Body is quite full with super great carbonation. Very well done thought more Saaz hops would have benefited this beer.
