Bière de garde ambrée. Bière de Picardie. Milliacus is brewed according to a traditional method of the Bellovaques region, in Milly en Thérain, at the heart of Beauvaisis, on land belonging to Louis de Bourdon, the Count de Clermont, a descendant of Saint Louis, famed for his bravery and devotion. Louis de Bourdon took part in numerous crusades, from one of which he is reputed to have brought back the recipe for a famous beer. But like his ancester , Dagobert, a little absent-minded, he must have lost it in castle's coat. Bronze medallist, Concours Général Agricole, Paris 2005, Catégorie Ambrée.

    Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7

375 ml caged and corked thick green bottle. Poured an unfiltered hazy ruby-brown colored Bière de Garde with a two fingers beige creamy foamy head that had a long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Some sediments. Soft carbonation. Poor lacing. The aroma is dried fruits, raisins, nuts, grainy malts, notes of caramel and molasses. The flavour is toasted and caramel malts, dark ripe fruits, raisins, plums, prunes, some spices. The mouthfeel is creamy and a bit ( too ) sweety. This medium to full bodied ale as a long ripe fruits finish with a notable point of alcohol. A solid and pleasant Bière de Garde.
