Exactly what I was hoping it would be. BGBW is already one of the smoothest beers I've ever had. While this edition is 1.8% stronger, it loses none of the smoothness. Rich and full. perfect carbonation, no alcohol bite at 12%?!! 3 months in barrels was perfect. Coffee is still the main player and the bourbon adds to, instead of taking away from the base beer. Release this in the states already!!!

Bottled. Pitch black colour, not much head. Aroma is caramel malts, toffee, some sweet whisky, coffee and some mild vanilla. Flavour is quite much the same. I actually think this is rather complex and balanced, Mild smoked and rosted coffee in aftertaste. If something negative on this, it’s rather sweet. I still like it quite much.

Bottle, courtesy of Nøgne Ø representative at "Onsdag i Annen", Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Pitch black colour, moderate tan head. Lovely aroma of bourbon oak cask/barrel with notes of vanilla, coffee and dark chocolate. The flavour has strong notes of vanilla, coffee and dark chocolate. Overall brilliant!
