Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5
Poured at the Glen Mills location, pretty expected color of an abbey dubbel: tawny murky brown - although it was dark, pretty sure not a bit of blue or black there - decent but not truly Belgian-esque head. The aroma was caramel, fruits - faint cherries could have been stronger - of raisins, light brown sugar, bready yeast, currants. The flavor followed the aroma, but unfortunately the blackberries and the base abbey were just not a great combination. Mouthfeel was a bit on the flat side, but body was full for a dubbel. A neat experience, but nothing I would seak out again.
