A really nice looking well made stout. Roasted malts abound with hints of spice and yeast. A little chocolate on the palate. full body and flavor. Not seeing the low scores. It was quite good if a little different. I definitely appreciate the quality

12 oz can. Pours inky black with a medium pillowy brown head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is subdued - sweet and roasty chocolate malts and grains with some cinnamon.
The flavor is very off - cardboardy, mineral, vegetal malts with some roast and a hint of cinnamon and peppers. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and very watery.
Overall, I don't know if I got a bad sample, but this was subdued and off. I really like the chocolate chili beers, but this didn't have much to it. -

Pours an opaque black with a foamy super dark brown head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa, cinnamon, and slight banana aromas. Taste is much the same with toasted malts and char flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of roasty bitterness on the palate with each sip, along with cinnamon. The pepper comes out as it warms. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is could be a pretty good beer, it has a lot going on ingredients which is good, but they dont really click.
