Our Irish Red Ale is very true to style; rich and malty with a grand amount of character. This twice-a-year brew has that special "accent of Ireland."

Sampled on 11/6/2009. This Irish Ale pours a medium orange gold color from a 22oz bottle. Small to medium sized quickly dissipating white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, touch of bread. A medium bodied Irish Ale. The malts are caramel and sweet, touch of bread with some nutmeg and cinnamon. Hops are earthy. Touch of peat, nuts, caramel and fruit. Light carbonation. OK, but not a style I actively seek out. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

rich, malty, nutty, and slightly dry. not a knock your socks off beer, but entirely enjoyable. as i sit here, i'm trying to compare with moylans...this one is slightly thinner, and slightly drier.

The aroma was hard to gather from the bottle but when poured revealed a stale, red aroma. Color was standard red ale beauty and the head was genuinely long lasting and laced the glass nicely. Taste was where I ventured out of my good review. It was sweeter than I care for my reds to be, although I am not sure if that is up to style or not. Hop balance gave way to a malty flavor. An increasingly good beer as it went down but not my favorite red.
