Discover the beers of the Sisters of Maredret Abbey, a range brewed with spelt and plants, inspired by Saint Hildegard of Bingen. Spelt provides floral, nutty and slightly bitter notes and supports the yeasty aromas of the Altus. The use of plants, notably cloves and juniper berries for Altus, gives it its unique taste. Maredret Altus develops a warm spiced bouquet with notes of clove, hay and juniper berries. The hop aromas will remind you of freshly cut grass and the caramel flavours give this abbey beer a comforting edge.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 6.8%. Deep golden to amber colour, huge white head. Aroma of Belgian ale yeast, malts and mild spices, including juniper berries. Flavour with the same elements, not too sweet, some fruitiness too, low bitterness.
