Zutaten : Wasser, Gerstenmalz, Hefe, Hopfen. Gebraut nach dem Bayerischen Reinheitsgebot.

750 ml capped bottle, bought at the brewery. Poured in the original Maisel stemmed snifter an unfiltered, light gushing and hazy burgundy-brown, close to black, coloured I S with a two fingers tan foamy head that had a mid-sized retention and tons of micro bubbles. Soft carbonation. Some lacing. The aroma is deep roasted malts and deep roasted coffee beans, spicy, licorice. The flavour is roasted malts, caramel, dark chocolate, brown sugar, spicy, licorice and fruity, dark berries. The mouthfeel is fulled, quite thick, light sparkling, light sirupy and light bitter. The texture is a bit oily. This medium to full bodied I S has a dry roasted malts finish. A nice Imperial Stout from the well-known Maisel brewery in Bayreuth city, but ... I expected more of it!
