Clean light-golden colour with a big head, slightly off-white with decent stay and some foamy lace. Malty nose of blonde cereal grain with hints of hops. Grainy cereal malt taste with some sweetness but not a long finish. The hops also shows up a little in the end creating a very mild dryness. Hints of apples lingers. Not bad, but a little too sweet for my likings and not the right hops for this style.

I have unofficially coined a new brew type - Ontario Blonde Ale, or OBA for short, as there is a real plethora of blondes being brewed in Ontario these days - it seems to be the big trend right now outside of IPA's. Alot of them I find have a very similar style to one another and this one is no exception on most levels. Marginally better out of the glass than can - the ratings are from my glass sample. What's standard/typical about this one? It has a thin, yet smooth body. Very light and not much of a nose. What's different? There is the weird black pepper taste that is prevalent throughout when drank soley from the can, but actually gives way to a slight hoppy taste when drank from a glass. Even a wee bit wheatish. Still even to that last sip there is that pepper note. Actually out of the can, it loses all flavour after awhile and becomes like drinking a rather flavourless light beer. The brewer even proclaims on the can that it is indeed best as a summertime quaff. It also has slightly burnt golden colour with a very thin quickly disappearing head and loads of carbonation.
