The Three Chopt name comes from a nearby colonial era trail marked by three hatchet marks on a tree. LCCB’s Tripel is a non-stopped hopped version of a European classic. We use American grown sterling and New Zealand Grown Motueka Hops that help impart a lemon and lime characteristic with a hint of tropical fruit. Multiple hop additions throughout the boil create a textured, full flavor. Bottled versions are 100% Bottle Conditioned in our Warm Room.

Another 'new' brewery makes it to my table. A murky yellow colored beer with a small, two fingered soapy textured head rising briefly above. A moderate ringlet is left. The nose is peppercorn, some flowers, and plenty of honey. There’s a yeasty note as well. The tasting matches in a stylistically appropriate and enjoyable Tripel.

Poured out a cloudy unfiltered dark yellow with a massive lingering foamy head. The aroma was of yeast, barley and malt. The mouthfeel was smooth and rich. The taste was of malt, yeast and a light citrus.
